What does our partial hospitalization program treat?
Mirror Lake’s partial hospitalization program treats those struggling with drug addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Co-occurring mental health disorders we treat include:
- Anxiety Disorders
- Bipolar Disorder
- Depressive Disorders
What therapies are included?
Medication Management
For clients whose chemical dependency is accompanied by a co-occurring mental health disorder, the incorporation of certain medications into his or her treatment plan can significantly improve his or her ability to achieve long-term recovery. Clients who can benefit from medication management services at Mirror Lake will meet with a medical provider at least once each week, with additional sessions available as needed. Nurses and nurse practitioners are also available to provide medication management services on a daily basis.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy sessions are conducted on a weekly basis during partial hospitalization programming. These one-on-one sessions between a client and his or her counselor can be excellent opportunities to address issues that are not appropriate for a group setting, and focus on achieving specific short-term treatment goals such as changing a behavior, resolving a conflict, or making a recovery-related decision.
Group Therapy
Clients will have the opportunity to participate in group therapy sessions on a daily basis throughout their time in Phase III. In a small-group environment and under the guidance of an experienced counselor, clients can share insights, learn from the experiences of others who are working through similar problems, and address behavioral and/or emotional issues that are related to the recovery process. Common topics discussed in group therapy sessions at Mirror Lake include living in balance, principles of recovery, and preventing relapse.
Family Therapy
Addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders do not only impact the afflicted individuals. Individual family members and the family unit as a whole can be damaged by an individual’s substance abuse and related problems. Family therapy sessions. commonly located at our treatment center in Tennessee, help loved ones to address their own issues, improve intrafamilial relationships, and strengthen the family unit. A healthier family will also be able to provide more meaningful support to the client once he or she completes treatment and returns home.
Family Program
Every Sunday, clients and their loved ones are invited to attend our Family Program on our treatment center’s campus in Tennessee. The main objective of the Family Program is to increase patient and family awareness of how addiction impacts the family system, and to help make healthy and productive changes to their family unit. Family Program activities include lectures, video tapes, experiential exercises and groups, shared meals, 12-Step based meetings, and non-denominational worship services. Clients whose family members do not participate in the Family Program will attend workshops that focus on family roles, family disease, and family recovery.
Experiential Therapy
Clients who are in Phase III have multiple opportunities to participate in experiential therapy sessions such as yoga and art therapy. Benefits of experiential therapy include expressing and addressing one’s feelings through art, learning relaxation techniques, improving healthy communication skills, and discovering alternative ways of dealing with problems, setbacks, and related challenges.
Faith-Based Treatment Track
The ReNew Christian Program is a voluntary treatment track for clients who wish to incorporate Christian principles and values into their treatment. Phase III clients may choose to participate in the ReNew Christian Program at any time throughout their treatment. The ReNew Christian Program features weekly process groups that combine Christian beliefs with evidence-based, psychological principles in order to treat the whole person, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Activities include daily worship and prayer, bible study using the Life Recovery Bible and workbook, meditation, Celebrate Recovery meetings, and 12-step meetings.
